Education and Outreach

The purpose of the Heritage Center is to preserve, promote and interpret the rich heritage of Southeastern Colorado.  Education through our “Legacy Trunk” outreach program and guided tours is one of our primary community goals.  The rich cultural and ethnic heritage of the area is the focus of many of our interpretive exhibits.

The outreach program provides academic enrichment to schools, youth organizations, and the public.  Trunks are developed through a volunteer committee to provide interactive history or cultural awareness lessons.

Legacy Trunk presentations are free for schools and children’s groups. A small charge is requested for presentations to adult groups.

Call 719 295-1517 to schedule a “Legacy Trunk” presentation or a guided tour of the museum.
